What he does to that cloth he does to himself
HEAD SEATTLE, c.1855
Photography builds a new reality, rather than reproduce it. Thus, the same object in the gaze of different photographers produces parallel realities that speak of the incidence of light on that object from different angles. The sum of these fractals of the object reconstructs a phantasmagorical semblance that we take for reality, privileging the image or representation of the object on the object itself. From the first actions in 2012 with the TxT (Textual-Textile-Contextual) suits, these have been worn by different women in natural, urban, diorama, domestic scenographies; but they had never been driven on a white auger. José Ramírez proposed to extract the landscape and let the costumes stand out and what happens to women when they wear a suit that symbolizes complex things. The TxT suits work like mitogramas, as it was understood instantly by Carmen Alicia Di Pasquale; its purpose beyond illustrating, is to induce or invite the rapture that makes the feminine jump to its next phase. The essentially virginal act represented by the photo shoot, as well as the final result appreciable in the photos of José Ramírez, brought us back to the full and refined sense of the ideas that are brought to light every time a woman dresses the following ideas: Nieves in Cyprus, Water to the Bridge, Drama in Cnossos, Petal QuanYin, Artemisal / Lastimaré, Malinche for the Language, LaNoviaManca. Women become icons in their Russian sense: stamps that only lack on the obverse an invocation to each of the allegories to which they are dedicated. You have to see José Ramírez working with models to understand this space suspended between worlds. The delicacy with which he approaches them, says something in their ear, asks them with a slight gesture to turn slightly one hand, gently guiding each finger to its place; and how under indications that almost do not seem to address, they are others: characters that exist at that moment, for that image, a representation of themselves that they ignored. That we sensed without having seen them unveiled. I know this because several of them, if not all of them, agreed to leave the session in the studio, to say that it had been a revealing experience, like a spell, and they were all so radiant, transmuted. Each photo session with the TxT suits has given rise to a different experience, according to the eyes of the photographers with whom I have had the privilege and joy of collaborating on this project, from 2012 to the present: Mauricio Donelli, Violette Bule, Gala Garrido, Tomás Vizo. Each session had its special imprint; the session with José Ramírez restored us to a mythical place.Very grateful to José Ramírez for the revelation; with Flavia Pesci-Feltri, Estefanía Herrera, Norkys González, Annabel Petit, Ana Lucia de Bastos, Elena Cardona for holding up the mythical images in the torches of their bodies, and with Johnner Cáceres, who applied his aesthetic wisdom to make them even more beautiful. what they already are.The TxT suits are associated with the 96 cards to leave the Garden in a mythical calendar that goes from March 9 to June 21 and from September 9 to December 21.
