The drive of the photographic portrait can be irrepressible. The portrait is more than a memory, it is a test of contact between the portrayed and the photographer and in this sense it is hoarded and displayed. Instant photography, due to its manipulation difficulties, gives the image a strong likelihood burden and, additionally, it has the aura of the unique specimen.These absent portraits mitigate the lack of the subject through an artistic operation of double appropriation. The distance of the subject given by the capture of a projected image of the original image is annulled through an instantaneous record that, dated in the present, converts these portraits into unique, credible and effective pieces.

La pulsión del retrato fotográfico puede resultar incontenible. El retrato más que un recuerdo, es una prueba de contacto entre el retratado y el fotógrafo y en este sentido se atesora, y se ostenta. La fotografía instantánea, por sus dificultades de manipulación, le confiere a la imagen una fuerte carga de verosimilitud y, adicionalmente, posee el aura propia del ejemplar único.Estos Retratos ausentes mitigan la carencia del sujeto a través de una operación artística de doble apropiación. La distancia del sujeto dada por la captura de una imagen proyectada de la imagen original, es anulada a través de un registro instantáneo que, datada en el presente, convierte a estos retratos en piezas únicas, verosímiles y efectivas.
